BUCHAREST 2018 – Workshop for Parliamentarians from the Balkans and South Caucasus to discuss issues pertaining to the Freedom of Religion of Belief within the two regions

The International Panel of Parliamentarians for Freedom of Religion or Belief (IPPFoRB) will host a workshop for some 40 parliamentarians and civil society actors from the Balkan and South Caucasus regions in Bucharest, Romania, on 15-17 June 2018.

The aim of the workshop is to discuss issues pertaining to the Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) and to challenge and reverse the growing level of societal hostility and governmental restrictions on FoRB across the Balkans and the South Caucasus.

The workshop will engage, motivate and provide resources to parliamentarians, enabling them to be advocates for FoRB at a national and regional level. It will also provide an opportunity for civil society representatives from the two regions to interact with parliamentarians directly in order to build relationships that might support long-term, successful engagement and collaboration on FoRB issues
