The first ever group of Pakistani parliamentarians for freedom of religion and interfaith harmony was launched in Pakistan on May 21, 2015. Members from all political parties were represented at the group’s first official meeting. Asiya Nasir, a founding member of the International Panel of Parliamentarians for Freedom of Religion or Belief (IPPFoRB) and Pakistani MNA, was selected as Chairperson of the new group.

The group later held its first press conference outlining their commitment to promoting the agenda of freedom of religion and creating an environment of harmony among people of different faiths.
