The International Panel of Parliamentarians for Freedom of Religion or Belief (IPPFoRB) is a global network of current and former parliamentarians, acting in their own capacity to promote and advance freedom of religion or belief for everyone, everywhere.
We envision a world where everyone enjoys their inalienable right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.
Our overall goal is to strengthen a broad coalition of parliamentarians working in partnership with other relevant stakeholders for freedom of religion or belief on the national, regional and international level.
To achieve this, we connect, mobilize and equip parliamentarians with the necessary capacity, tools and resources so that they can take meaningful actions and advocacy initiatives in support of freedom of religion or belief.
We are overseen by an informal and diverse Steering Group of current and former parliamentarians. The network is supported by a full-time Secretariat based in the Norwegian Helsinki Committee in Oslo, Norway.
We have a variety of positive partnerships in relevant freedom of religion or belief fora on the national, regional and international levels. We regularly engage and cooperate with international actors and civil society organizations that share IPPFoRB’s basic commitments to equality, diversity and solidarity.
