Faith can be an important source of moral courage for individuals and communities in their advocacy for not only freedom of religion or belief but also dignity, equity, and justice for all. Religious and lay leaders who build bridges between rights advocates and parliamentarians play a unique catalyst role in bringing about positive legal and social change.
In an increasingly polarized world, the ability and willingness to build alliances across faiths and the political spectrum are precious resources for promoting pluralism, embracing diversity, and maintaining social cohesion.
This IPPFoRB panel brings together parliamentarians and faith leaders who have dedicated their lives to reaching across divides and building coalitions to promote a more just and inclusive world, where all individuals can enjoy their fundamental rights and freedoms.
