The IPPFoRB São Paulo Academy is aimed at bringing together parliamentarians and key stakeholders from across Latin America for an intensive space of dialogue, learning, and exchange on freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).
Hosted in São Paulo, the Academy will provide participants with a deeper understanding of international human rights standards related to FoRB, as well as the role of parliamentarians in advancing legal and policy frameworks that protect freedom of religion or belief in diverse and democratic societies.
Through expert‑led sessions, peer exchange, and case‑based discussions, participants explore how FoRB intersects with broader issues such as democracy, social cohesion, equality, and the protection of minorities. The Academy also offers a platform to share national and regional experiences, identify common challenges, and reflect on good practices in legislative and parliamentary action.
Beyond capacity‑building, the São Paulo Academy will strengthen regional networks of parliamentarians committed to promoting and protecting freedom of religion or belief, fostering cooperation and sustained engagement at national, regional, and international levels.
