What we do
IPPFoRB’s work is built on three core pillars: capacity building, advocacy and networking.
Through these focus areas, we empower parliamentarians to effectively protect, promote, and advance Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in their regions. We foster a global network of committed legislators working to uphold this fundamental right, and we ensure that IPPFoRB Parliamentarians are equipped to take meaningful, informed action in defense of FoRB.
Capacity building
Through our capacity-building sessions, we equip IPPFoRB parliamentarians with the knowledge, tools, and resources to advance Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in their national and regional contexts. We offer tailored training programs that reflect regional needs and feature insights from international experts on FoRB, its legal frameworks, global challenges, and its intersection with other human rights.
These trainings include IPPFoRB’s flagship IPPFoRB Academy, as well as regional workshops and global conferences. All events are guided by a strict no-harm policy and bring together expert practitioners, academics, and key stakeholders to provide targeted, practical support.
Advocacy
Protecting and advancing Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) is a shared responsibility. IPPFoRB’s unique, non-partisan network connects parliamentarians across geographical, religious, and political lines, fostering collaboration and mutual support.
Through peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and safe spaces, IPPFoRB Parliamentarians explore challenges, exchange ideas, and identify practical ways forward together.
We facilitate networking opportunities at global, regional, and national levels, often in partnership with trusted organizations and networks. These platforms strengthen solidarity and help build a community of committed advocates working to uphold FoRB for all.
